Wetting and brazing of YIG ceramics using Ag–CuO–TiO2 metal filler

The wetting and brazing of Y3Fe5O12 (YIG) ceramics with a Ag–8CuO–2TiO2 filler was investigated for the first time. For comparison, wettability Ag–10CuO on YIG similarly investigated. has an equilibrium contact angle approximately 31 °C substrate at 1000 °C; thus, its is excellent. Moreover, exceeds that Ag–10CuO. microstructure interfacial structure between were determined using scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, EPMA transmission microscopy. liquid can react by forming continuous Y2Ti2O7 layers dotted CuFe2O4 promote behavior bonding performance. average shear strength could exceed 30 MPa joints temperature °C. As rupture occurred adjacent to seam ceramic side, strengths interfaces characterized via nanoindentation. hardness interface doped TiO2 Ag–10CuO, which strengthened among Y2Ti2O7.
